When you are hosting an event that will involve a sit-down meal of any kind, renting tables is already on your to-do list. But organizing table rental can be more involved than you might think. You have to think about the number of guests, the size of the space, and what else is happening in the room, among other things. But outside of the size and number of tables, there are other logistical considerations that you have to keep in mind. Luckily, you have the team at Rental Depot Boston to help you out!
Here’s a handy guide to help you get started with the table rental process.
Start with the chairs.
When you look at a rental company’s table options, you’ll see that they say each table seats a range of people. For example, a 60-inch round table will seat 8 to 10 people. This is because we need a little wiggle room to account for the type of seating that you choose. Different styles of chairs take up more space than others. So before you can calculate how many tables you need, you have to select the chairs that you want. Then you’ll be able to know exactly how many people you’ll be able to fit at each table.
Think about mixing it up.
Often, an event will have larger low-top tables in the middle of the room and high-top cocktail tables around the perimeter. But that’s not the only way to combine table sizes and styles. Instead of only using one table size, use a combination of large and small tables. This makes the room look more interesting and gives you some flexibility in the seating arrangement. If your guest list doesn’t neatly fit into groups of six or eight, start by grouping your guests and then matching your table selection to the groups rather than the other way around.
Go over everything with the rental company.
Party rentals are expensive, so you want to ensure that you understand what you’re getting into. Before you sign a rental agreement, go through it line-by-line with the rental company and ask questions. Even if you feel silly at the time, you’ll be glad you did it. The last thing you want to happen is to get stuck with extra fees because you misunderstood how and when you were supposed to return your rental items.
